Our new laptop decided to die last week so we haven’t been able to upload any new pictures of Lucy. I even have a video of her smiling at me for about a minute-it’s about the cutest thing ever. Hopefully we’ll get those up and posted soon-hurry up HP!
Today was Lucy’s 2 month check-up. She’s doing great! She weighs exactly 10 pounds and is 23.5 inches long!!! The doctor said that her height was “off the charts”. Since I’m 5’1 and Shaun is 5’6 we never thought we’d hear that about our child. I’m sure it won’t stay that way for long.
Lucy’s Grandma and Pop (Shaun’s parents) are visiting from Pennsylvania. They arrived last Saturday and will be here through next Tuesday. They’ve been getting some quality Lucy time.
We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Hopefully we’ll be back with pictures and videos soon!!!

Yesterday was Shaun’s 30th Birthday, or as he lovingly calls it, his 27 +3 Birthday. Here’s some pictures:
Chillin with Daddy before Dinner:
We LOVE the Baby Bjorn:
Shaun asked for do it yourself sushi for his birthday. The rule is whatever you want on your birthday (within reason) you get! Birthdays are my absolute favorite thing and I try really hard to make them as special as possible.
Here’s the spread:
A happy guy!
Shaun and I picked out his gift from me a few weekends ago. I got him some really nice mountain biking shoes to replace his 6 year old $40 ones that were falling apart. I let him use them for his ride on Sunday (since the old ones literally fell apart) so he wasn’t expecting any gifts. MUHAHAHAHA! Lucy got him a gift!
What is it?
A framed picture of Lucy for his desk:
We ended the night with a family portrait:
In other Lucy news, she was weighed yesterday and she weighs 9 pounds 5 ounces!!! She’s nursing well! No wonder her newborn clothes and diapers are getting too small. I can’t believe she’s already 7 weeks old and getting so big. It makes me both happy and sad. I love watching her grow but I know that as she gets bigger, I’m going to miss my little 6 pound munchkin!

Okay, I admit it. Before Lucy was born I really thought all newborns (up until 6 months) were the same – they input (milk), output (poo), and process (sleep) but nothing else. I was wrong, very wrong.
Lucy is now six weeks old and while most of her day is spent as listed above, we get a few hours of actual interaction time every day. This usually consists of patty-cake, dancing (looks like sweatin to the oldies), stretching her limbs, and checking herself out in the mirror (seriously…).
To help promote self-learning, I thought it would be a good idea to buy Lucy a play gym! I got kind of carried away and ended up with the Lamborghini Diablo of “Activity Play Sets” – this thing squeaks, plays music, lights up, shakes, etc… I hope it doesn’t feel like we’re putting her on a different planet!! Although, she seems to EXTREMELY enjoy spending time in her play set and is actually able to swat – and make contact with – the items hanging down. We’re still interacting with her just as much, only now she gets to play while we do chores that would otherwise require her to be in a crib/swing/etc…
We’re not very into toys so maybe this will hold us over until her first mountain bike? Yeah…right!

Lucy has discovered yet another way to wrap Daddy around her little finger-she HUGS him. It melts his heart:
Lucy in her Halloween outfit. You can’t see it but her feet say “BOO!”
We went to sushi this weekend and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a picture with Lucy and Sake. Don’t worry, no Sake was given to Lucy!:
Daddy went and bought Lucy a new toy, a play gym-she really likes it! 2 months ago he said we’d never have one of these. He went and bought her the nicest one (see the first picture):

Lucy and I were hanging out today reading a book and she decided to giggle. She got this really big smile on her face and then giggled! It was the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard! I haven’t been able to get her to do it again but hopefully I will hear it soon (and Daddy will too!).
Yesterday we went to the Doctor to get the second round of Hepatitus shots for Lucy 🙁 They stuck that big needle in her leg and she bled and cried. Thankfully she stopped crying after I cuddled her up to my chest-it took about 30 seconds to calm her down-she really is a chill baby-we are so LUCKY!!!
They also weighed her yesterday and she weighs, DRUMROLL PLEASE…..8 pounds 1 ounce!!! She’s gained almost 2 pounds in a month! The milk machine (that would be me) is doing her job!
I’ll be back soon to post some new pictures of the Little Munchkin!
Lucy’s doing great! She’s holding her head up for insane amounts of time, she’s vocalizing-we found our voice this week!, she’s making really great eye contact, she can see about 2 feet away, and she smiles ALL.THE.TIME!
She’s sleeping really well, we get about 3 hours after we put her down at around 10:30 pm and then she lets me sleep for 2 hour stretches until she wakes up for good between 10 and 11 am. We try to go for walks every day and other than complaining when I put her in the stroller, once she’s in, she’s a happy camper. We love our little Lucy to pieces and can’t imagine life without her!

Much to my chagrin, I’m known in my family for really liking nakedness. As a child I would strip and go running down the street. I really enjoyed my “naked time”.
Well, it seems Lucy is following in my footsteps…
This is how Lucy looks when she gets put down:
She’s in a gown and then tightly swaddled in a blanket. This morning, we put her in the crib while we did some household chores. I went in to check on her and found this:
Need a closer look?
Yes. Lucy somehow got out of both her tightly swaddled blanket and her gown. We both just had to giggle.
Now for some other fun pictures:

Lucy lost her umbilical cord stump today, so now we can give her a real bath-I can’t wait!
Shaun and I were talking this weekend about how it seems like we’ve had her forever and that the hospital seems like a lifetime ago-and it’s only been 2 weeks!! At the same time we feel like she’s getting so big and growing up right before our eyes. I guess this is what all parents go through.
She is an absolute dream baby. She sleeps well, hardly ever fusses, and when she’s awake, she’s smiling. The last 2 nights she’s decided to stay awake after her 2 am feeding. The first night we rocked her, we jiggled her, we put her in the Pack N’ Play with the vibrating bed on-we did everything and she stayed awake until her 6 am feeding. Last night we were sure to tire her out and then she was wide awake at 2. I swaddled her and put her in the Pack N’ Play and she was fine-I was able to lightly sleep through it-which was better than the night before. I fed her again at 3:30 and she went to sleep-the desired affect!!! Hey, at least she’s not crying!
