Visitors!!!!

Posted by Chelsea on Monday Oct 19, 2009 Under Toddler

Lucy has had a ton of visitors over the last month.  Mommy and Daddy are finally recovering but we all had a great time.  We LOVE visitors!

First up was her Cousin Tessa, Auntie LaLa and Uncle Willie.  They flew here the day before Lucy’s birthday party-they got here early-before Lucy could even change out of her PJ’s.  At first Lucy was like “who are these people?”  Tessa on the other hand found all of Lucy’s loudest toys and joyfully played with them:

Eventually Lucy warmed up:

Later that day Mimi and Papa got here as did Uncle Jake and Aunt Amy. We all went out to dinner and had a great time-so great apparently that we didn’t get any pictures.

The next day was Lucy’s birthday party.

We had a big BBQ at the park with all of Lucy’s favorites-Steak, Chicken, Avocado, Cheese, and Pasta Salad (with Cheese-she REALLY likes Cheese!):

Mimi was there:

Lucy’s friend Aiden (all the way from Marin) and her other friend Sophia (from San Jose)-if you can believe it Sophia is 6 weeks younger than Lu and 2 weeks younger than Aiden:

Aunt Marci and Uncle Dick came from Bakersfield:

But she did get dirty enough for a bath:

She finished up the day swinging with Cousin Tessa:

The next day Mommy got a matching outfit for Lucy and Cousin Tessa and then only got one (not so good) picture:

Here’s Lucy trying to escape!

Auntie Bug and Cousin Tessa (Tessa’s like “who is this Crazy Lady?”):

Lucy got a little overwhelmed with all the visitors which is very obvious in this picture with Mimi and Papa (it’s a GREAT picture of Mimi though-those are hard to get-she normally clams up in front of the camera):

Next up, Gram and Pop flew all the way from Pennsylvania to visit! The first day they were here we went to a pumpkin patch where Pop got the nice girl to let Lucy sit on a pony:

Next, Lucy visited the animals in the petting “zoo”. Pop and Gram were shocked by how much Lucy loved the animals-she wasn’t scared at all:

Then the requisite pictures with pumpkins!

They’re evidently great for standing:

Pop wanted a picture of Lu in the wheel barrel-ask and you shall receive!

Next we went to the beach, where Lucy walked like a big girl:

The next day we went to the park:

First Steps EVER on Video

Posted by Chelsea on Friday Oct 16, 2009 Under Toddler

So, I have tons of pictures to share with you (birthday party pictures, Gram and Pops visit) but we had quite an exciting night in the Titus household and we had to share!

First, a little backstory: Lucy has been doing the “downward dog” for at least a month.  She’ll get to all fours, with her butt in the air and then will fall down and start crawling.  Tonight, she did the downward dog and then just STOOD UP and stood there clapping.  Shaun and I watched dumbfounded!  She did it over and over again and then we decided that we should try to get this on video.  He got his iPhone out and I got the camera out.

We got her to stand up, we both had the video rolling and she decided to WALK TOWARDS ME! She only got a few steps in but still-this was a first! We both got videos of it and in them you can hear how in awe I am (I’m a tad bit embarrassed by my reaction but oh well, it’s as real as you can get).  We were not expecting this to happen AT ALL.

Mommy’s Perspective:

Daddy’s Perspective:

Oh boy-we’re in for it now!!!
