Hi all,
We’re very excited to announce that we’re having a baby!!! YAY! I’m due on October 12th and we couldn’t be happier or more excited.
We find out the sex on May 14th-which couldn’t come soon enough. Attached is a picture of one of our ultra-sounds. Not surprisingly we have a very active baby in there, that’s fun to watch on ultra-sound but I suspect won’t be so fun to feel in a few months đŸ™‚
I hope everyone is doing great. I can’t wait to hear from you and hopefully see you all soon.

We had our 12 week ultrasound on Tuesday. It was a longer and more in depth one where they checked for chromosomal abnormalities. Everything checked out perfectly healthy-YAY! I also got to stare at my baby for a good 20 minutes-that was unbelievably cool! When we started I had actually fallen asleep waiting for the technician-hey they put a pregnant lady in a dark room, laying down, next to and ultrasound machine emitting white noise-it was bound to happen! So when they first looked in there The Bean was sleeping too. At first it freaked me out because it wasn’t moving but then I saw the heartbeat =D And then The Bean woke up!
The Bean takes after its Daddy. He/she was all over the place-that kid does not sit still! The tech said “Your baby is VERY active. I need to follow it.” He had that wand thingy all over my belly-it was crazy! I got to see the back and spine, the top of the head with the different regions of the brain and lots of profile pics! It is measuring 10 cm and looks just like a teeny tiny baby in there-so amazing!

Our doctor decided to do an ultrasound at our first appointment and we found out some very exciting details. We are not having twins (whew), Chelsea is due on 10/12 which is Columbus day, and most exciting is that we got to see our baby (which we currently call Bean because it’s been supplying Chelsea with an endless supply of gas – she puts her family to shame in burping contests right now).
I scanned an image and attached it to this email. The doctor said we were very lucky because the initial ultrasound normally isn’t so clean and well defined. It was actually a little eerie because the baby was moving around and you could really see it’s arm and leg sprouts pretty well at one point.
On a less important, but still very exciting note, we bought a new Honda Element EX last night! Our old Jeep was in need of very expensive repairs and at 207k miles it wasn’t worth dumping thousands of dollars into. Plus we wanted the new safety features now that we are going to have a little one. I attached a picture of the car too so that you can see it.
